The Handbook
Nutrition for parents of children with cancer
A practical handbook on nutrition for parents of children with cancer or undergoing bone marrow transplant — filled with hints on what to feed your child during treatment and how to navigate the medical system. Written by a registered dietitian with input from fellow dietitians, advanced practice nurses, and a social worker who have cared for children with cancer and genetic diseases for decades.
The diagnosis of cancer in a child brings overwhelming challenges to the patient and family. Amidst keeping your appointments for treatments and clinic visits, one of the most basic human acts — feeding your child — suddenly feels like a daunting challenge. You quickly realize that nutrition is not a secondary concern; it is a critical part of the treatment.

About Lynda
Four decades caring for children and their families
I'm Lynda Rosini, a registered dietitian who has devoted my career to pediatric oncology nutrition. I've walked alongside countless families through some of the hardest moments of their lives, helping them turn the daily act of feeding their child into a source of strength rather than stress.
Drawing on that experience — and the wisdom of the dietitians, nurses, and social workers I've worked beside — I wrote a handbook to put practical, compassionate guidance directly into parents' hands.

Questions & Answers
Frequently asked questions
Answers to some of the things parents ask most. Don't see yours? Reach out below — I'm always happy to help.
Who is the handbook for?
It's written for parents and caregivers of children going through cancer treatment or a bone marrow transplant. Whether you're newly diagnosed or deep into the journey, you'll find practical, compassionate nutrition guidance you can use right away.
Do I need a nutrition background to understand it?
Not at all. Everything is written in plain, warm language — no jargon. The goal is to make feeding your child feel manageable, not overwhelming.
Can nutrition really make a difference during treatment?
Yes. Good nutrition supports healing, helps maintain strength, and can ease many of the side effects of treatment. Small, intentional changes often make mealtimes calmer and more nourishing.
How can I work with Lynda directly?
Lynda welcomes questions and conversations with families. The best way to reach out is through the contact form below or by joining the parent community, where you can connect and find support.
Is there a community I can join?
Absolutely. The parent community is a safe, supportive space to share experiences, ask questions, and know you're not walking this road alone.
